How to keep comfort from KILLING YOUR DREAMS

I believe perspective is the best antidote to giving up on our dreams. When we get the right perspective on what our future could be, it will keep us from succumbing to the lure of giving up.

The problem usually isn't GETTING that perspective, however, it's KEEPING it.

I believe there are 4 main reasons we lose perspective as we chase our dreams:

1. Comfort
2. Size
3. Magic
4. Belief

In today's post I want to talk about comfort.

Comfort in and of itself is not a bad thing, of course.

The problem is, we struggle to decipher momentary comfort from lasting comfort. We need to be careful not to let momentary comforts pull us away from the true comforts we desire, which lie in accomplishing our dreams.

I believe momentary comfort is the reason most people never succeed.

So how do we handle this ever-present desire for comfort? Here's what I do:

When faced with the temptation to NOT take a step because it would mean sacrificing momentary comfort, I like to think about where I am in comparison to where I want to be.

That's how I regain perspective. Because when I take that big picture view, it suddenly makes me uncomfortable, even in the most comfortable setting.

I want to challenge you to do the same thing as well, because a step not taken is a step in the wrong direction, and a step further from the person you want to be.

Keep the end game in mind. Your dream of a better life is worth the small amount of comfort you may give up to be the person you were meant to be.
